Dr. Leslie Buggi is a 2006 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in the Omaha, Nebraska area for seven years prior to moving to the South Metro area.

In February of 2017, Dr. Leslie purchased Akin Hills and has enjoyed learning the ins and outs of becoming a practice owner.

She and her husband have 2 young boys and a Bernese Mountain Dog named Gus.

She enjoys all areas of general practice but has a special interest in small animal dentistry, internal medicine and dermatology.

She loves working with the clients and pets at Akin Hills Pet Hospital!

Cynthia Guss, DVM

Dr. Cynthia Guss is a graduate of Ross School of Veterinary Medicine.  She joined the Akin Hills team in January 2012. She entered veterinary medicine as a second career after working for 15 years on social justice and domestic hunger relief.

Dr. Guss views veterinary medicine as a natural extension of such pursuits and loves spending her days helping keep your furry friends healthy and happy. Her areas of special interest are preventative medicine, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

In her spare time, she enjoys cuddling with her own pets and taking them for runs at her local dog park.  Dr. Guss is also an active member of the Pet Haven Animal Rescue.


Dr. Carrie Blees received her DVM in 2016 from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary medicine, after completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Trinity International University.

Dr. Blees moved to Farmington with her husband and started at Akin Hills Pet Hospital in June of 2017.

Having been involved with Christian Veterinary Missions and Student Initiative for Reservation Veterinary Services during school, Dr. Blees has a passion for service, especially in under-served regions.

Dr. Blees and her husband have a Beagle mix named Finley, who loves to take them for runs.

In her spare time, Dr. Blees enjoys hiking, travel, creating music, and spending time with family and friends.
